Mourning Summer's Pass

Mourning Summer's Pass
by Rebecca Schweiger

Time runs by,

Sometimes I chase it. Other times not.

Everything changing

changing
changing
changing

Warm, cold, light, clouds.

Small, big, baby, adult, silence, talking, quiet, loud.

Every moment I'm being born again,

and then that last moment dies.

Birth, death.

Living, dying. All is living, dying, living, dying, living. Eternal.

change
change

Love walks in, love walks out.

Anger rises, peace overcomes.

Thoughts race, serenity follows.

Rush of life, followed by the break of dawn.

Questions, answers.

Heart breaks, heart grows stronger.

Heart opens, heart closes.

And then it opens again, even wider this time.

Tears fall, smiles glow.

All in flux, all surfing to the waves of life.

All splashing in ecstasy,

wailing with the bumps of pain and sorrow.

Underneath the change

change
change

the Truth. Solid everlasting. Oneness.

Sacred Truth, You do not change.

You just deepen in time.

Gratitude, I dance in Your embrace,

hold me
as I mourn
this summer's passing.
